So I’m not really sure why the Lord decided to put this album on my heart. I’ve never been one to linger in judgement scripture. It’s honestly a concept I still struggle with. Even though I know that the Lord is righteous and well reasoned in destroying His enemies, it’s just always been something I’ve struggled to accept. I’m always for one more chance, even when I know it’s just not going to change anything.
That being said, I’m so very glad that He did push my heart and mind in this direction. This collection of songs was such an eye opening journey for me. I never thought I’d be driving my car down the road and belting out songs of judgement with such passion, but apparently I just needed a little nudge into this direction.
Babylon is my favorite song on the collection that I entitled the Judgement EP. It was such a departure from what I had done to this point, and I haven’t really done anything quite like it since, but it showed me that I could really take this sound in any direction I wanted and just have fun with it. If it’s a little odd to think of judgement scriptures as fun, I get that thinking, but give this song a listen and see if it gets you singing along, and then think about how you feel about that. The victory of the Lord over evil is worth singing about, isn’t it?
