So I know I’m going to lose some of you the heavier this album gets, but I hope you get the concept anyway. The book of Isaiah is rich with unheeded warnings, and so much of what he has to say just seems like this is the only way to deliver it. I just don’t think these words are meant to be delivered sweetly. They’re meant to be delivered with an enthusiasm that’s hard to describe, and for some, hard to justify. I’m fine with it, and I certainly get it. I spent much of my life being critical of music like this, and not enjoying having a singer screaming into my ears, but then as I wrote this song, it just sort of seemed like the only way to deliver a warning such as this. I made another version that is a little more ominuous, if not aggressive, and I liked it (I’ll post it later), but this one just seemd to fit. If it’s not your thing, I don’t blame you, but the words ring true anyway. Thank you for listening.
